Chakra Balancing
Chakra Balancing is a form of energy healing that focuses on channeling Universal energy into each of the seven chakras. When we talk about balancing chakras, we are referring to treating your energetic body. The body is not only made up of the physical body, but also an energetic body that extends beyond our physical being.
In Sanskrit, the word “chakra” means “disk” or “wheel” and refers to the energy centers in your body. These wheels or disks of spinning energy each correspond to certain nerve bundles and major organs. To function at your best, your chakras need to be open and balanced. If they get blocked you may experience physical or emotional symptoms related to a particular chakra.
There are seven main chakras that run along your spine. They start at the root, or base, of your spine and extend to the crown of your head. Some people believe that we have at least 114 chakras in the body. The chakras most often referred to are the seven main ones that we’ll explore in more detail below.
During a Chakra Balancing session, a practitioner may use several methods including using a pendulum to clear and balance the chakras, using crystals that relate to the energy of each chakra, and may place her hands over the chakras beginning at the Crown Chakra and moving down each chakra to the base of the spine, or the Root Chakra. Hands are held over each chakra for approximately one minute, working to balance the energy movement between each chakra within the body’s energy system.
Chakra Balancing encourages your body to return to a natural state of balance and joy. Using her knowledge of the energetic system, Teresa brings her unique training, experience, and perspective into the session to clear, balance and align your chakra system opening you to a new state of invigorated energetic health.

The Crown Chakra or sahasrāra chakra is all about spiritual connection and transformation. It lifts and inspires you, connecting you to the Divine whether you call it God/Spirit/the Universe/Source. The Crown Chakra gives you a sense of your own divinity, the awareness that you are a soul in a human body.
-
The Third Eye Chakra or ajna chakra refers to the gate that leads to the inner realms and spaces of higher consciousness. In spirituality, the third eye often symbolizes a state of enlightenment or the evocation of mental images having deeply personal spiritual or psychological significance. The third eye is often associated with religious visions, clairvoyance, the ability to observe chakras and auras, precognition and out-of-body experiences.

The Throat Chakra or vishuddha chakra is responsible for communication, the expression of thoughts, feelings and ideas, a healthy internal dialogue, striking a balance between speaking and listening, as well as the seeking and sharing of truth, social skills, and personal integrity and honor. It also works closely with the sacral chakra. While the sacral chakra governs creativity, it is the throat chakra that allows the individual to express those creative ideas rather than stifling them for fear of others’ opinions.

The Heart Chakra or anahata in Sanskrit means unhurt, unstruck and unbeaten. It is the fourth primary chakra and serves as our center of love for ourselves and others, compassion, empathy and forgiveness. The heart chakra is associated with unconditional love, compassion, and joy. It is the source of deep and profound truths that cannot be expressed in words. The heart chakra is the bridge between the lower and upper chakras integrating the manifest with the spiritual.

The Solar Plexus Chakra or manipura chakra in Sanskrit, translates to “city of jewels.” Located in the upper abdomen at the diaphragm, it acts as the center of personal power. This chakra governs personality, ego, identity, as well as personal freedom, choice, and authenticity. The solar plexus chakra also has much to do with motivation, willpower, and purpose, which stem from one’s sense of personal efficacy. Self-confidence and view of the self connect to the solar plexus chakra, as well. Furthermore, this chakra governs the digestive system and its respective organs; as a result, it has jurisdiction over both the gut’s emotional brain and stored emotions.
-
The Sacral Chakra or svadhisthana chakra is associated with sensuality and creativity. The primary function of this energy center is pleasure and overall enjoyment of life. When this chakra is balanced and functioning properly, we can expect our relationship with ourselves and the world to feel harmonious, pleasureful and nurturing. The sacral chakra is associated with the element of water; flow, flexibility and freedom of expression when it comes to emotions and sensuality. This energy center, when balanced, offers direct access to flow, flexibility and fun.

The Root Chakra or mūlādhāra chakra in Sanskrit, is known as “the root of all things”. Located at the base of the spine at about tailbone-level, it acts as an individual’s center of emotional and spiritual balance, as well as instinctual consciousness. At its most basic level, the root chakra is concerned with our basic needs of food, water, shelter, and our sense of safety and security. It is through the root chakra that we get our sense of belonging and being connected and grounded to the earth.
Teresa will work with you to clear, balance and align your chakras. Never will she attempt to “open” your chakras as this may cause undue discomfort, and in severe cases, cause deep emotional and psychological issues. Your chakras open and close depending on your situation and circumstances in life and are guided by your own innate “knowingness”. However, it is not uncommon after a Chakra Balancing session with Teresa, that your chakras will be open.
A Chakra Balancing session may benefit you if you are:
feeling stressed, frazzled or overwhelmed
having trouble concentrating
experiencing any sort of physical illness, symptoms or discomfort
feeling stuck in your job, your relationships, your life
feeling like there’s something more to life
having trouble manifesting the things you desire
having trouble finding joy and fulfillment in the things that you have manifested
feeling unbalanced and blocked up
yearning for a spiritual connection
